Friends memories for Lauren's birthday!

Brie Boss and Lauren at Lauren's Quincinera Birthday party
Lauren was one of the most amazing people ever! She had/has the biggest heart I have ever known! I am so grateful that I have gotten to know her! She had such a radiant glow about her! She was always smiling no matter what the situation. She always made me feel accepted. I remember in sixth grade that Lauren, Claire, me,(and someone else) were working on a project. She had great ideas and a great sense of humor! We were always laughing in that class. She was/is such a sweetie and I will never forget her and her influence in me life! Thank you so much Lauren for everything!!!!!

Love Brie Boss
I met Lauren in fifth grade when I moved here from rural Idaho. I remember that her mom and Claire's mom came into our class and would do art lessons. I think that was the first time I really met her, because I knew that her mom was one of the art people.
She had this long blond hair and she was no nice. We were in the same class in sixth grade too. We both had Mrs. Gambles. I never really got to know her until we were in journalism together in 9th grade. She loved that class, and I did too. She won the "Best hair" category in the yearbook and I was so happy. I remember the glowing look on her face. She always had so much school spirit, and befriended everyone. She even invited me to a sleepover before school started in August, and I didn't think she knew me that well! I was very warmed.
I didn't realize how many people she had inspired and influenced until her passing. I wish I had gotten to know her better. She is truly incredible.
Loves to you Lauren,
Cara

Lauren and Shannon on Lauren's 14th birthday
I have many really great memories of Lauren, I could not go a time hanging out with her that I didn't laugh until my stomach hurt.  We made hundreds of "inside jokes" and even made a play about a prince (in an orange tux) rescuing a princess being held captive by a plastic dragon.  We later preformed it for our friends.  One of my favorite memories with Lauren was at a sleepover we had.  After watching "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and being convinced that Windex was the solution to all our problems, we ran downstairs and put Windex on all our cuts, scrapes, warts, and scars.  After a few minutes we were very disappointed that it didn't work (and it stung) and we started to laugh at our stupidity.  I think about all the fun times I had with Lauren and will always love and miss her.  She had a huge impact on me, even when we started drifting apart in Jr. High Lauren would continue to smile and say hi to me.  She was so nice to everyone even if she didn't have a reason to be. I love listening to all the songs that remind me of her, these include: "Rush," "Dare You To Move," "Only Hope," and "Butterfly Kisses."
-Shannon Bodily

Another thing that I love about Lauren is her sense of humor. When she found out that I didn't like hugs, she immediately gave me a really tight one. I remember her scolding me about not liking them. She wouldn't let me get away with not getting hugs and would run towards me when she saw me and hug me. That always made me laugh.

I've known Lauren for as long as I can remember!!!! There are way too many hilarious and fun memories to chose from!!!! Lauren was the kind of a person who was a friend to everyone, no matter what you were like. During all of elementary school I don't think I got through one day without her calling me to play. I was pretty much a part of the Webb family. They let me be a part of mostly all of their family activities (including trips.) I felt so apart of the family that Carlie, Sara, and I would pop rude sarcastic jokes at each other like what you would do to your sister and it felt normal :)! I remember when I would go over to her house and Carlie Webb would slam the door in my face!! Some of my best memories was when we were in 6th and 5th grade together! We constantly had sleepovers and parties! Close to the end of 6th grade was when Lauren and I got married!! (extremely long story!!!) She always supported everyone of my ballet performances and always brought me flowers :) She never missed one! She was such a gift giver. You could never give her something without her giving you something bigger and better back!!! One time I asked for the world (sarcastically) for my birthday, and she gave me a mini globe with an atlas book and a burned c.d. with the song 'A Whole New World' from Aladdin on it! We also made each other build-a-bears with our voices in them for each other!!! She was also an amazing artist! One of my favorite gifts she ever gave me was a pastel drawing of her and me and it is beautiful. It hangs in my living room! Here we are in high school and she and I had our own little Disney parties, where we would watch Disney movies and make yummy treats! She sure wanted to stay a child forever! Lauren and I knew each other long enough to be Joy School / Kindergarten buddies to locker partners in high school! :) Lauren was my  sister, my hot wife and my BEST FRIEND! I love you Lauren. All my love forever and ever,
Claire!!!

Mary Urie with Lauren at her 15th birthday party
Lauren and I became friends in 2nd grade and she was immediately a great friend to me. I remember one day when I went home with Lauren after school. Lauren's mom was driving, and as we were pulling off the road into the driveway, Lauren said we should stand up on the seats and stick our heads out of the sunroof as we drove back to the house. So Lauren and Carlie stood up, but I was scared because it was dangerous or something (I'm usually a cautious person). Lauren told me it would be fine and that it was fun and she wanted me to do it with her, so I did. I never saw Lauren afraid of anything. She was never willing to just give up a fight, she always kept going. She loved to have fun and she loved her friends dearly. I'm so glad I could be one of those friends. She has blessed me so much and in so many ways. She blessed my life more than I probably even realize. Lauren has touched my life and so many others. This world is a better place because of her. I love Lauren and I know we can see her again. She was a great person and is a beautiful daughter of God. Lauren has always been a wonderful inspiration to all those around her, and has been a great inspiration to me. We all miss you Lauren! So much!!! We love you so much Lauren!!!!

Surya and Lauren / Quincenera
The day I met Lauren remains a distinct memory in my mind. She and I had English class together in  9th grade. Lauren sat across from me, and beginning with the first day of class, she greeted me every day with the biggest smile on her face. I didn't exactly know Lauren well at the time, but she approached me and spoke to me as if we had known each other for years. Making friends with Lauren was one of the easiest things I have ever done. She and I fit together like pieces in a puzzle. She always made me laugh! I remember the first time she invited me to her house. It was getting close to Halloween and neither of us could wait! I don't even remember how we got to talking about brownies, but we did. We wanted to bake brownies with orange chocolate chips in them. From then on, my nickname for Lauren was "Brownie" and she always called me "Chocolate Chip" (this actually got really confusing in the future because I would look under "Lauren" in my phone for her number and would remember that she was saved under "Brownie"). Lauren had a special gift, the gift to draw others towards her. She had so much love to give to everyone and it seemed like it grew everyday. Lauren will always hold a special place in my heart.

With Kacey at her birthday party and on that trip to Nordstrom Rack.

Lauren and I met in ninth grade through a blessed mutual friend. The first time I was invited to come over and hang out, I was very hesitant. I didn’t know Lauren very well and I didn’t want to intrude. I could not have been more wrong. Lauren was so inviting, so friendly and so nice, even though she barely knew me! We clicked that day and became instant friends. We often hung out playing board games and on her Wii. I remember how every time we played Mario Kart, Lauren loved the Moo Moo Meadows because of her love of cows. One time, Lauren, Surya and I ended up at Nordstrom Rack. We came up with a game that we had to find the most hideous clothes for each other. It was so much fun, I regret that day being so short. Lauren is an amazing person. She was always humble and considerate. She never let anyone feel less than their best. She went out of her way just to make people feel good about themselves! Lauren loved every person she ever met; and it is because of her everlasting love that no one could ever forget her, including me.

Lauren, I miss you so much. you were such a great example to me and I loved being in seminary with you. Your testimony is so strong and bright and because of you, my testimony has gotten that much stronger. I hope you have an amazing birthday!

 MY MEMORY-
Lauren came with my family and I up to a cabin we visit. We had the most fun!
When i would ask her what we should do she would think of the most creative things.
We went into the woods and made a "house" out of sticks and grass, then we made
"dinner" out of little food like things we found. We were explorers and went up this river with big sticks we found as our hiking poles.
I remember one of the nights my sister and Lauren formed a club called "the burnt sisters" because they liked their marshmallows burnt, and i was so jealous that she was with my sister instead of me!
Lauren was always soooo happy and creative! we all miss her so much...

At the Skyline Football game with Rylie - September 09

Anytime with Lauren was always time well spent. But one memory that comes to mind is when Lauren and I were talking and I asked her if she wanted to go to a movie the next day with me because it was my birthday. She of course said yes and got a couple more people to come and because of her I had friends to celebrate my birthday with. It may have seemed like a small thing to her but it is something I will never forget.

I will never forget when our stakes, East Mill Creek Stake and North East Mill Creek North Stake, sang in the 2009 General Young Women Broadcast.  As the last word, STRONG, was sung in "as Zion's Youth in Latter Days",  the camera zoomed in on Lauren's face.  We all knew what effort it had taken for Lauren to be there and the fasting and prayers that had made it possible.  What an appropriate word to describe Lauren.  She always remained exceedingly strong despite her trying circumstances. She is the quintessential example of strength and is a great blessing to have her as an example in my life.  The strength Lauren had inspires me to be more like her.  I am so grateful for her friendship and the many lessons she taught me through her strength.

Lauren was and will always be such an amazing friend. She was always there to include me no matter where I was and she always had such a sweet smile on her face. Lauren's parties were always the best ones to go to and you could always feel included there. One of my favorite memories with Lauren is when we had a sleep over together and we stayed up till 7 in the morning! We were all tired the next day but that memory will be with me forever.
Happy Birthday Lauren!
Love,

Lauren has always been such a great example to me. Whenever I would talk to her,
I would walk away from the conversation feeling happy and uplifted.  She always had something sweet to say and I knew that I would always have a blast being around her.  I remember when I first met her and how much fun I had playing with her. She always made me and everyone else around her smile. Whenever I look at her painting, I am inspired to be like her and follow her example. I love Lauren and all she had done for me.

Heather with Carlie at Lauren's 16th birthday party
I really didn't know Lauren for very long at all, but for the short time I did have the opportunity to know her, she was a true inspiration and incredible strength to me.  I was blown away by her example to me and all around her of courage and true hope.
I first met Lauren in 6th grade.  What stands out in my mind is her huge joyful smile and her gorgeous and long blond hair that I loved.  When I got to know her better in 2009, I was amazed with her unfailing strength and love for everyone.
A short memory I have of Lauren was in the General Young Women Conference last spring.  Girls from our stake got to sing in the choir in this meeting and Lauren was one of those faithful girls.  She was very sick at the time though, and people were just hoping and praying that she would make it to this conference.  I distinctly remember sitting in the seats in the Conference Center and watching as the choir began to sing.  As I watched the screen, the camera stopped on Lauren's shining face.  She was up there, singing brightly with everyone else.  I immediately began to cry as I was again amazed at Lauren's incredible strength in Christ and perseverance.  I continued to be overcome by the spirit as my testimony that Christ lives and has a plan for each of us was greatly strengthened.  I will never forget that experience and I thank Lauren and our Heavenly Father for it.
Thank you so much for all you did and still do Lauren! I love you!
Love,
Heather Allen

When I stopped to think about a favorite memory I have of Lauren, my mind filled with flashbacks of laughter and fun. I think my fondest memory of her and me is when we hung out together one Friday or Saturday night. We were at her house and no one was home. We hadn’t had dinner and we were hungry. We decided we wanted to make cookies, so we walked down to Dan’s to get the needed ingredients and some T.V. dinners. We made the cookies while our dinners cooked. To no surprise the first batch of dough did not turn out and we started all over again. When it was time to eat and we needed some drinks, we went downstairs and found the thing that made our night, a small bottle of sparkling cider that was just perfect for us to share. After dinner we were still finishing up our “bubbly” and I looked on the back of the bottle at the nutrition facts. I commented on the lack of calcium in it and Lauren started saying, “Oh, that means we’re going to get…get…oh, what’s it called?…ya know that old ladies get…” and my first thought was, “Hip-replacements?” and Lauren just busted right up with laughter, so, of course, I started to laugh too. I started saying “What?” but she just kept on laughing. Finally she was able to pull it together and said, “No! I meant osteoporosis!” and that started another giggling episode. I still laugh every time I think about it. Even when I found out my grandma might need a hip replacement, I couldn’t help but let a small chuckle out.
Lauren~
I love you so much and I think about you everyday. I’m so grateful that I got to know and had you as a good friend. Words cannot even begin to describe the kind of person you are and the impact you had on me. You have taught me so much. I’ve learned to love unceasingly, face life with all my heart, and to trust in the Lord with no doubts. My testimony has grown so much not only from you, but from your wonderful family as well. Your friendship means the world to me, and I will treasure it forever. Happy Birthday, my dear!!!

Love always,

One of my most vivid memories of Lauren is when we were having a sleep-over at her house and we were watching the movie Kate and Leopold. Lauren made sure that we all knew that she, Lauren, was going to marry Leopold and that she had dibbs on him. :) After watching that movie I decided that Lauren had absolute primo taste in the type of guy she wants! There are so many great memories of Lauren and I this is just one of several. :) She always made sure everyone was welcome and I love her so much!

Lauren is such an amazing friend who has changed me forever.  I met her in 1st grade in Ms. Lloyd's class.  We became close friends and our friendship only grew stronger throughout the years.  I will always cherish the memories we shared together.  We ran through the grass in warm summer days, snickered as quietly as we could at our inside jokes during class, made up games on the trampoline, slept outside in a tent and watched What About Bob, colored with chalk, went swimming, baked cookies and made lemonade, stayed up all night at sleepovers, rode in a limo, sang together, laughed together, and cried together.  Lauren had such a fun, sweet personality that attracted everyone to her.  She was always an example to me and I wanted and still want to become more like her.  She had a testimony of her Savior and showed it through the light in her eyes and by the way she lived.  At the end of our ninth grade year, Lauren and I watched the movie Forever Strong together.  It was appropriate that the first time I saw this movie was with Lauren.  The characters in the movie are strong, but not as strong as the heroine who was sitting beside me.  Lauren is FOREVER STRONG, now and for eternity.  I strive to live forever strong in the footprints Lauren has left in my life.  I love you Lauren!

Lauren was a dear friend of mine ever since I can remember. I have so many memories with her that made me grow to love her sweet personality. We would play on the tramp, play in the basement on the "flying turtles", draw with chalk on the driveway, play down by the creek, and I also loved going to all Lauren’s super fun birthday parties. There was never ending fun whenever I was with Lauren.
One of my favorite times, however, was one time when we spent the whole day together. We went to a movie (Ice Princess) right after school and then we went back to play at Lauren’s house afterwards. We had just watched this movie about ice skating and we wanted to be like the girl on the movie. We decided that we should dress up and make up ice skating routines for each other.  We found some fun music and got to work on our "intense routines". We would jump from the tree house and do crazy twirls, spins, and jumps. It was so much fun. The best part was when we got to perform them, after a long rehearsal, in front of a live audience (Melodie). We were pretty much like professional ice skaters after that day. :)
This was a memory I will never forget, along with so many others. I would always do the most exciting and creative things with Lauren, which always made being with her a thrilling and fun experience. I loved having Lauren as my friend. She always had a smile on her face and my day would always be brighter because of her happy, positive attitude. She always knew exactly what to do or say to help me get through a rough time. I will be forever grateful for her strong testimony and love of the gospel. I learned so much from her on a daily basis and I hope I can one day be as valiant and true as Lauren was. I love you so much Lauren. Thanks for your love  and shining example in my life. Happy Birthday!!
With all my love, Janie

All my memories of Lauren are good! I don’t think anyone could think of anything negative about her!! I love her with all of my heart!

I remember going over to Lauren’s house and having so much fun every time! I remember riding Flying Turtles down the driveway, walking in the creek, swinging on the rope swing, and even flooding her downstairs bathroom! I remember her birthday parties were the greatest! There were murder mysteries, pajama parties, pizza, movies, and my favorite when we all made toasts for Lauren.
This is a picture of my tribute to Lauren on my shelf. The rose is the one Lauren gave me for Peter Pan, the statue is from the white elephant for either Lauren’s birthday or Christmas. It reminds me of how she always smiled no matter what she was going through! The crown and wand and picture are from her birthday when we made toasts for her. The card was from Lauren thanking me for my toast, and the thing I will always remember her for was that she loves cows!  Your browser may not support display of this image.
My last memories I have of Lauren were just seeing her in the halls at school every day! It was so great to see her and give her hugs!  Thank you Lauren for being a wonderful friend and example! I love you!! ♥

And, here are two poems that were written by two friends for Lauren in those first couple of days ...

When you unveil a truth
A truth of tears, a truth of shock, a truth of change
A truth of the loss of a friend
A friend so true and always seeing the best in others
A friend you love and cherish
You feel and discover a part of you that you never felt before
And it hurts, it longs, it grieves
And you wonder…why?
Why did she have to leave us when her life seemed to have barely begun?
Why did she go when we needed her?
Why did she go if we love her?
And then you realize…
That the Lord’s love is what took her
Because it was her time to go home
She loved this life and her family, her friends and her blessings
But her Father was calling her to come home
And so she came
She ran into His loving arms and He cradled her
And she was safe and comforted because she knew…
Knew that we would soon join her in our Father’s kingdom
And then we would all live together
Reunited and mirthful
We unveiled a truth of comfort, of purity, of hope

A Beautiful Young Girl
By Megan Cooley

A beautiful young girl
Who was facing her life’s storm,
Never let it get her down
Her smile was bright, her heart was warm

A beautiful young girl
Who had reason to be scared,
Found Christ to be her comfort
To help her be prepared

A beautiful young girl
Whose life was far too short,
Lived her life with joy and love
With Christ as her support

A beautiful young girl
Full of laughter life and love,
Was being called back home again
To her Father up above

A beautiful young girl
Who we know we’ll see again,
Left this earthly test behind
So her real work could begin

To a beautiful young girl
God has great love to share,
And we know from His great plan
We’re going to meet you there

To a beautiful young girl
This life is not the end,
Christ suffered on the cross
So that our broken hearts could mend

To a beautiful young girl
You’re now with Jesus Christ,
And we’re so blessed to have had the chance
To know you in this life

To a beautiful young girl
We love you and we know,
Forever you’ll be in our hearts
Wherever we might go
